How to Create Business Email With Your Own Domain
Plan mailboxes, connect DNS and test delivery for a professional company email address.
Business email uses your own domain so customers recognise your organisation. Before creating addresses, decide which users need independent mailboxes and which addresses can be aliases delivered to an existing mailbox.
Practical steps
- Register or retain control of your domain, choose a mail plan and confirm mailbox count, storage and sending limits for your team.
- Create mailboxes in the authorised control panel with unique passwords. Assign account ownership and recovery contacts; avoid sharing a single administrator login among staff.
- Apply the provider-confirmed MX and authentication records. Include all legitimate sending systems, such as your website and a separate marketing platform.
- Configure webmail and devices using the assigned IMAP and SMTP settings. Keep the old mail service available if you are migrating existing messages.
Check the result
Send messages to and from an external address, reply in both directions and confirm folders synchronise across devices. Check the message headers for expected authentication results.
Before you proceed
Mailbox capacity, forwarding behaviour and sending allowances are account-specific. Do not assume an unlimited mailbox count means unlimited storage or bulk-email permission.
