How to Set Up Business Email on Android
Configure a supported mail app, verify encrypted connections and test mobile synchronisation.
Android devices can use several mail apps, each with different account and notification options. Choose a maintained app that supports the protocols your mailbox provides, then use the provider's exact connection settings.
Practical steps
- Obtain IMAP and SMTP settings, including hostnames, encrypted ports, username format and authentication requirements. Do not share the password in a support screenshot.
- Add the mailbox in the chosen app using its supported account type. If automatic setup selects the wrong provider, enter the confirmed server settings manually.
- Enable the prescribed encryption and outgoing authentication. Investigate login or certificate failures instead of switching to an insecure connection.
- Choose appropriate synchronisation and notification settings, then review battery and background-data restrictions if new mail arrives only while the app is open.
Check the result
Send a message to a separate external mailbox and reply. Compare Sent and deleted messages with webmail, and test both Wi-Fi and mobile data to identify network-specific issues.
Before you proceed
An app showing an account as added does not prove sending works. Outgoing SMTP authentication is separate from incoming mail access and must be tested.
